The Northern Polk County Pheasants Forever was established in 1989.

Since our previous banquet in February 2014, the Northern Polk Pheasants Forever chapter has accomplished the following achievements within our community:

  • Partnered with Polk County Conservation Board to purchase 154 acres of ground near Elkhart that will be added to Chichaqua Bottoms Greenbelt and open to public hunting and use.
  • Creation of the Rooster Revival Raffle to help raise funds for the Ankeny Shooting Sports Foundation and benefit the Ankeny and Centennial High School Trap Teams.
  • Chichaqua Wildlife Management Area Pollinator Seeding- 30 acres
  • Northern Polk Pheasants Forever Youth Hunt- 61 Participants
  • Over 20 Youth Sponsored for Outdoor Camps
  • Over 50 Acres of Wildlife Food Plots Planted
  • 48 Acres of Native Grass Planted for Wildlife Habitat
  • Over 30 Acres of Invasive Species Removal on Public Recreation Areas
  • 25 Acres of Invasive Tree Removal on Private Land
  • Over $25,000 spent on habitat improvements within Polk county and the surrounding area
  • Over $12,000 spent on youth education and outreach
